More Beautiful Paper Roses

I love it when I open my boxes of beautiful paper roses!..........Sooooo pretty!

What shabby chic girl could not love this eye candy?

I though about decorating one of my Christmas trees with them this year, just a small tabletop tree..........what do you think?

Christmas is a coming.....

I find myself surrounded by Christmas trees.................

Pretty ones of course!

I have been busy creating these cute shabby chic style trees, each one has its own uniqueness...........

I wanted to share with you a really inexpensive way you can display these beautiful trees........

From the dollar store I purchased the round mirror, $1 of course, they also come in different shapes if you prefer. It measures around 5 inches diameter and was a perfect size for my 4 inch trees.......................The glass cover was a find at the thrift shop for 25 cents, but also at the dollar store or Walmart you can buy glass vases of a similar shape for less than a dollar. Just make sure its tall and wide enough to fit over the tree.....

Another idea is to buy one of these great jars from the craft store, this one was 75 cents, originally $1 but I had a 25% off coupon..........Simply glue the tree to the inside bottom, add a little mica and glitter to the bottom for a snowy effect if you like, then close the lid and attach a hand made Merry Christmas label...........voila! So cute!

Does anybody have any other ideas?

Barbola Basket Find

I visited a few antique stores this week with my husband on his day off.........Well worth the trip, look what I found...........

A beautiful antique barbola basket.........it was sitting on a high shelf, turned on its side............I reached up to take a peek and check out the price..............My heart skipped a beat!............$10 OMG, it`s mine!

All original paintwork and only one small area with damage.........

It`s around 1930`s, English........worth around $500 I would think..........

I have filled it with long stemmed paper roses that I have just listed in my store.

Just goes to show, bargains can still be found!

Speaking of the paper roses, here are some large 3.5 inch ones on a 4 inch metal stem that I have just listed, they are adorable!

See you soon! Have to get back to my faux mercury glass projects that I have become obsessed with lately........but more on that later............

Still at Tybee Island.....

Our final days at Tybee are here, we have had a great time at our condo..................our boys have enjoyed the company of their cousins and had fun surfing, skim boarding and swimming!.......................Next week we get to visit Cherokee, NC with my husband for a business trip (for him)......we will go river tubing, visit the Smokey Mountain Railroad and maybe some zip-line adventures!......................Then I must get back to work!

This French soap label ephemera is so cute.......feel free to download the image print them for your personal use............Just click on them, then right click and select save.

I wanted to share with you a new website that I came across, some may already be familiar with it.................It is http://www.swap-bot.com
It involves joining swaps with groups of other people, there are many different categories to choose from, most are craft oriented, either hand made or supplies. Basically you join a swap, get paired up with one, or sometimes more, partners and mail each other the items specified............what fun receiving a surprise package in the mail!..................And of course I will love sending some of my creations and supplies found in my store..................Why not join? Maybe we`ll get paired up?

New.......French Feed Sacks, reproductions.

I wanted to show you these gorgeous French design feed sack bags I just got my hands on. They are reproductions but look GREAT...................................Made from burlap with a French text and design.............Huge at 30 inches by 18 inches, the back of the bag is plain burlap...................I have so many ideas for what you could use these for................Roll down the top and fill them with tall fabric flowers.................Pop a pillow inside and sew or tie with a ribbon for a fantastic sofa cushion.................Shorten a little bit, add some pretty fabric handles and use for a tote bag....................The possibilities are endless!

I only have 6 of them at this time, so if you would like to pre-order one I will save it for you and complete the sale after my vacation, in mid June.......................They are $22.00 each, send me a message in comments if you`d like one.

Decorating Plan...........

I have a plan..........................I am decorating the den, which is currently the boys room, Xbox, Wii, lego.......you name it, it`s in there.
This is how it looks now

Not glamorous at all right?

When I`m finished I`ll post the after pictures................I have big plans........a wide striped painted wall using a metallic grayish silver paint from the new Valspar Metallic Collection at Lowes....................new white slipcovers for my Potter Barn sectional.................no more popsicles in that room!

I`ll keep you posted, probably won`t get finished until after we get back from the beach in June.
